Amplifying Saudi Women's Heritage

Sawtasura or "voice of the image" is a Saudi based curatorial platform founded by researcher-artist Tara Aldughaither in 2020. In recognizing the need for locally informed narratives and resources, and with a particular focus on women's history, Tara set out to collaborate with local artists, researchers, and communities to produce work that not only documents but activates Saudi heritage (be it musical, literary, oral or natural) as a site of dialogue, agency, and imagination. 

The process intersects research with contemporary curatorial practices to deliver world class, critical and memorable exhibitions, programs, workshops and artworks with no commercial interest. Sawtasura also focuses on mentorship to Saudi curators, artists and researchers who seek to push forward women's arts and reclaim its power within the cultural field. 

صوت الصورة، هي منصة تقييم فني مقرها المملكة العربية السعودية، أسستها الباحثة والفنانة تارا الدغيثر في عام ٢٠٢٠. ومن منطلق إدراكها للحاجة إلى سرديات وأرشيفات نابعة من السياق المحلي، وبتركيز خاص على تاريخ النساء، بدأت تارا في التعاون مع فنانين وباحثين ومجتمعات محلية لإنتاج أعمال لا تقتصر على توثيق التراث، بل تسعى إلى تفعيله 

كموقع للحوار والتمكين والخيال.

تعتمد هذه العملية على تقاطع البحث مع ممارسات الفن المعاصر لتقديم معارض وبرامج وورش عمل وأعمال فنية ذات مستوى عالمي، تحمل طابعًا نقديًا وتبقى راسخة في الذاكرة، دون أي اهتمام تجاري بالمخرجات. كما تقدم صوت الصورة برامج إرشاد للفنانين والباحثين السعوديين الذين يسعون لدفع فنون النساء إلى الأمام واستعادة مكانتها وقوتها في الحقل الثقافي.
