Sawtasura, or “voice of the image,” is a Saudi-based curatorial research and development platform founded by Tara Aldughaither in 2020.

Sawtasura conducts multidisciplinary research across sound art, the archive, and women’s studies, supporting institutions and cultural practitioners in cultivating authentic and sustainable ways of developing a strong voice.

Through exhibitions, consultations, programs, workshops, and curricula, its work activates Saudi heritage as a living site of dialogue, agency, and imagination—deepening local narratives and affirming their resonance within a global cultural field.

While the platform’s core focus is on women’s narratives and sound practices, Sawtasura also collaborates across disciplines to nurture thoughtful artistic processes and situated forms of knowledge. Its practice bridges research, community, and the arts, creating spaces where shared memory and creative expression meet.

صوت الصورة، أو “Sawtasura”، هي منصّة سعودية متخصّصة في البحث والتطوير القيّمي، أسّستها تارا الدغيثر عام ٢٠٢٠.

تعمل المنصّة في البحث المتعدد التخصصات عبر مجالات فن الصوت، والأرشيف، ودراسات المرأة، وتدعم المؤسّسات والممارسين الثقافيين في تطوير أساليب أصيلة ومستدامة للتعبير عن صوتهم وإنتاج المعرفة.

من خلال المعارض، والاستشارات، والبرامج، وورش العمل، والمناهج التعليمية، تسعى المنصّة إلى تفعيل التراث السعودي بوصفه فضاءً حيًّا للحوار والخيال والفاعلية، وتعميق السرديات المحلية وتعزيز حضورها في المشهد الثقافي العالمي.

ورغم تركيزها الأساسي على سرديات النساء والممارسات الصوتية، تتعاون صوت الصورة مع مجالات متعددة لتطوير عمليات فنية وفكرية واعية بالسياق، وبناء معارف متموضعة تستند إلى التجربة والمجتمع. تجمع المنصّة بين البحث والمجتمع والفنون، لتخلق مساحات يلتقي فيها التذكّر الجماعي مع التعبير الإبداعي.
